Job Description:
A key position in the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process is the Demo Entry (Demographics Entry) Executive. In order to start the claims process, your main duty is to precisely record and input patient data into the billing program. As the gatekeeper of data integrity, you are responsible for preventing errors that could result in claim denials and payment delays, such as misspelled names or inaccurate insurance IDs. High typing speed, meticulous attention to detail, and a rudimentary awareness of HIPAA privacy standards and US healthcare insurance are all desirable qualities.
Key Duties:
Data Capture & Entry: Enter demographic information from provider enrollment forms, such as name, date of birth, address, and social security numbers, to register new patients.
/>Verify insurance information by accurately entering payer IDs, group numbers, and policyholder details for primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance.
Examine and evaluate patient registration forms, face sheets, and insurance cards to make sure all necessary fields are filled out for billing.
Error Prevention: Before processing a claim, find and highlight inconsistencies in patient records, such as mismatched addresses or expired insurance.
Software Proficiency: Update and manage patient accounts by navigating Practice Management (PM) systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
HIPAA Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations by handling sensitive Protected Health Information with the highest secrecy.
