Job Description:
A key player in the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process is the Demo Entry Executive (Demographics Entry Executive). This position is in charge of carefully entering insurance, social, and personal patient data into the medical billing software. Accuracy is crucial because this is the initial stage in the billing chain; any mistake here, like a misspelled name or an incorrect policy number, results in instant insurance denials. High typing speed, strong data verification abilities, and a rudimentary awareness of U.S. health insurance kinds are all desirable qualities.
Key Duties:
Patient Registration: Using scanned patient intake paperwork, accurately enter the patient's "Demographics" such as full name, date of birth (DOB), gender, address, and Social
Security number (SSN).
Verify insurance by gathering primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance information, such as policy member IDs, payer IDs, and group numbers.
Data validation: To verify consistency, compare the information on the patient's registration form with copies of their insurance cards.
Provider Assignment: In the billing system, link the patient encounter to the appropriate referring and rendering physician.
Error Recognition Mark patient records that are unfinished or unreadable, then get in touch with the provider's office to get the missing data.
Account Linking: To preserve a "Single Source of Truth" in the database, locate and combine duplicate patient profiles.
