Responsibilities:
In the practice management system or medical billing software, accurately enter the costs of medical services, procedures, diagnoses, and modifiers.
Verify input charges thoroughly to reduce mistakes, omissions, and inconsistencies that might result in claim denials or rejections.
Always maintain patient confidentiality and data security by strictly adhering to all HIPAA laws.
Keep thorough and precise records of every charge entry action.
Participate in finding ways
to automate and improve the charge input function's workflow.
Skills:
basic knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle in the United States.
strong familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and medical terminology.
fundamental knowledge of modifiers and how to use them.
