Converting medical services into billable claims is the responsibility of the Charge Entry Executive, a fundamental position in the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process. Entering patient demographics, provider details, and medical codes (CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS) into the billing system effectively is your main task. Because the information you submit affects the reimbursement amount and the provider's payment schedule, this position demands a high level of accuracy.
A meticulous person with a solid command of medical jargon and the capacity to handle large amounts of data with almost no errors is the perfect candidate.
Key Skills:
Medical Terminology: A solid grasp of anatomy, physiology, and medical records.
Coding Knowledge: Knowledge of the CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding schemes.
Technical Accuracy: Outstanding typing speed and error-free handling of intricate alphanumeric data sequences.
Software Proficiency: Knowledge of RCM systems such as Athenahealth, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, or Epic.
