Job Description:
The "data architect" at the beginning of the Medical Billing Revenue Cycle is the Demo Entry Executive (Demographics Entry). Accurately entering patient and insurance information into the Billing System (PMS) is your main responsibility in order to guarantee that claims are supported. A single typo in a patient's name or a transposed digit in an insurance ID might result in an instant denial; you are the first line of defense against claim rejections. The ideal applicant is a highly meticulous professional who can type quickly and has a solid grasp of patient registration procedures and US healthcare insurance kinds.
Key Duties:
Patient Registration: Using scanned intake forms, accurately enter the patient's full name, date of birth (DOB), gender, address, and social security number.
Enter
primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance information, making sure to enter the correct "Payer ID," group numbers, and policyholder data.
Verification Support: Verify that the patient's coverage is active for the "Date of Service" (DOS) by comparing the entered data with the insurance portal results.
Mapping: Using the clinical data as a guide, connect the appropriate "Referring Physician" and "Rendering Provider" to the patient encounter.
Documentation: Examine scanned patient charts and "Superbills" to make sure all required insurance and demographic cards are present and readable.
QC: To reduce "Front-End Rejections" by the clearinghouse, audit your own submissions to guarantee 100% accuracy in critical categories.
