Job Description
To join our machining team in Chennai, we are looking for an HMC (Horizontal Machining Centre) Operator with experience and expertise. Establishing and running horizontal machining centres to create precision parts in accordance with technical drawings and specifications will be your responsibility. Strong knowledge of machining procedures, equipment, and quality assurance particularly as they pertain to horizontal machining operations is necessary for this position.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs) to perform milling, drilling, boring, and tapping operations.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions, including understanding multi-sided machining requirements.
Select, install, and adjust appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding
devices for horizontal machining.
Load and edit CNC programs as required, making necessary adjustments for optimal machining parameters.
Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
Skills:
Strong understanding of horizontal machining operations, multi-sided machining, and machining principles.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Proficiency in using various precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of different cutting tools and their applications in horizontal machining.
Educational Qualification: 8th, 10th, 12th or Above
Experience: 3+ yrs
