VMC Setter Implementing Precision Requirements
Job Description
Who You Are:
Machine Setup Excellence: You will load and check CNC programs (G-code/M-code), secure workpieces with the proper fixtures and vices, and make sure the machine is ready for production runs.
Tooling and Offset Management: You will load all cutting tools into the tool magazine after precisely choosing, presetting, and measuring them. You will also set exact tool diameter and length offsets in the control system.
Program Proving and First-Off Inspection: It is your responsibility to demonstrate new programs in a safe and effective manner. Before giving the task to the operator, you will carry out the crucial first-off component inspection utilising precision measuring tools (micrometres, gauges, CMM reports)
to confirm dimensional accuracy and achieve necessary tolerances.
Troubleshooting and Adjustment: You will diagnose and resolve common setup and production issues, including tool breakage, dimensional drift, and excessive cycle times, making necessary offset or parameter adjustments to maintain quality.
Safety and Standards: You will strictly adhere to all machine safety protocols, proper work-holding practices, and maintain meticulous documentation of setup sheets and process parameters.
