VMC Setter Advances in the CNC Turning Sector
Job Description
Preparing and calibrating vertical milling machines for fresh production batches is the crucial technical responsibility of the VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Setter. The intricate process of turning a raw material into a completed "first-off" part is the main focus of this position. Interpreting technical designs, choosing the appropriate tools, establishing exact work-offsets, and proving out programs are all under the Setter's purview. In order for VMC Operators to maintain a reliable, high-quality production run, the machine must be precisely adjusted.

Responsibilities
Work-Holding Setup: On the machine table, install and align precise work-holding devices including hydraulic vices, rotary tables (4th axis), and custom jigs.
Tooling & Carousel Management: Choose the proper cutting tools (drills, end mills, and face mills) and load them into the Automatic Tool Changer (ATC); adjust tool diameter and length offsets.
Work

Offset Calibration: To create accurate G54–G59 work coordinate systems, use edge finders, dial indicators, or touch probes.
Program Proofing: To confirm tool paths and avoid collisions with fixtures, load CNC programs into the controller and run "Single Block" dry runs.
initial-Off Inspection: To guarantee 100% correctness, run the initial part of a fresh batch and conduct a thorough dimensional audit using micrometers and CMM data.

Skills:
Advanced Controller Proficiency: In-depth familiarity with Haas, Siemens, or Fanuc interfaces.
GD&T Interpretation: The capacity to comprehend and utilize intricate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing requirements.
Accurate Measurement: Capable of employing slip, height, and bore gauges.
Mechanical aptitude: in-depth knowledge of chip generation and metal cutting theory for different steel and alloy grades.

We invite you to apply and explore this exciting opportunity!
