Job Description
Duties:
3D Parametric Modeling: Use sophisticated SolidWorks capabilities like sheet metal, weldments, surfaces, and configurations to create intricate part models and large-scale assemblies.
Design for Manufacturing: Optimize designs to lower production costs, cut down on the number of parts, and make shop floor assembly easier.
Simulation & Analysis: To verify structural integrity, do Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with SolidWorks Simulation to test for stress, strain, and factor of safety.
Documentation: Using 3D models, create excellent 2D production drawings that include bill of materials, comprehensive views, and geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
Mechanism: To avoid physical collisions, use SolidWorks Motion to evaluate moving parts for interference, clearance, and operational
range.
Product Data Management: To preserve a "single source of truth" for engineering data, use SolidWorks PDM to manage design versions, modifications, and approval processes.
Focus Skills:
SolidWorks Proficiency: In-depth understanding of SolidWorks, covering Part Modeling, Assembly, and Drafting (CSWA/CSWP/CSWE level).
Mechanical Intuition: Excellent knowledge of gear ratios, mechanical movements, and material strengths (plastics, steel, and aluminum).
GD&T expertise is the ability to apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to guarantee that parts are functionally interchangeable.
Analytical Thinking: The capacity to decipher simulation results and adjust designs based on facts to enhance performance.
