Technician for Preventive & Breakdown Utility Maintenance
Job Description
The crucial support systems utilities that make high-precision injection molding processes possible are managed and maintained by the Utility Maintenance Engineer. In contrast to routine machine maintenance, you concentrate on the plant's power distribution, compressed air, chilled water systems, and hydraulic oil cooling. Maintaining a steady atmosphere will help you avoid mold issues and machine downtime. With the capacity to control resource usage and guarantee 100% uptime of auxiliary equipment, the ideal applicant is an expert in HVAC, industrial plumbing, and electrical switchgear.
Responsibilities
Chiller & Cooling Tower Management: To avoid part warping and cycle time fluctuations, maintain and troubleshoot industrial chillers and cooling towers to guarantee constant mold temperatures.
Power Distribution & DG Sets: Oversee the plant's diesel generators and electrical HT/LT panels to guarantee a steady power supply and a smooth transition during blackouts, safeguarding costly molds and hot runner systems.
/>Water Treatment & Chemistry: To avoid scaling in mold cooling channels and machine heat exchangers, keep an eye on and maintain the quality of process water.
HVAC & Cleanroom Maintenance: Keep up with plant ventilation and air conditioning systems, making sure that the air is properly filtered and changed, especially if the mold is for the electronics or medical industries.
Safety & Compliance: Make sure that boiler, pressure vessel, and environmental laws are followed, and enforce LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) during utility repairs.
Skills:
Technical Versatility: Excellent understanding of three-phase electrical systems, high-pressure hydraulic piping, and refrigeration cycles.
Knowledge of PLC-based utility monitoring or Building Management Systems (BMS).
The ability to diagnose vibration problems in pumps and motors, thermal hotspots, and air/water leaks.
Experience creating maintenance plans for heat exchangers and spinning machinery.
