Technical Specialist expert Air Conditioning Mechanic
Job Description:
An AC (Air Conditioning) Mechanic is a skilled tradesperson responsible for the hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and repair of cooling and ventilation systems. While similar to an AC Technician, the Mechanic role often focuses heavily on the mechanical overhaul of systems, including compressor replacements, copper piping fabrication (brazing), and the physical maintenance of heavy components. This role ensures that residential or commercial units operate at peak performance, maintaining indoor air quality and temperature control while adhering to strict safety and refrigerant handling protocols.
Key Duties:
Installation & Piping: To assure leak-proof refrigerant lines, install window, split, and package units; precisely bend, flare, and braze copper pipes.
Component Repair:
Investigate, fix, or swap out mechanical parts such expansion valves, condenser coils, compressors, and evaporator units.
Refrigerant Charging: Use soap solution or electronic detectors to test for leaks; use vacuum pumps to empty systems; and charge with the proper refrigerants.
Electrical Troubleshooting: Examine and resolve common electrical problems, such as malfunctioning thermostats, capacitors, contactors, and wiring connections.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning or replacing air filters, clearing condensate drain lines to stop water leaks, and performing "jet washes" on coils.
System Diagnostics: To determine the cause of a system's poor performance, apply your technical understanding of the refrigeration cycle.
We invite you to apply and explore this exciting opportunity!
