Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, sometimes referred to as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), is a highly skilled technique used by TIG welders to join metals. Because TIG welding is frequently used on thin materials and high-value metals like titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel, this role is differentiated by the requirement for extreme precision, a steady hand, and an artistic touch. The ideal applicant can create high-pressure, x-ray-quality welds that satisfy strict aerospace,
medical, or food-grade standards and is aware of the subtleties of heat control to prevent warping.
Key Skills:
Technical Mastery: Expert knowledge of GTAW processes and the ability to feed filler wire manually with high coordination.
Metallurgy Knowledge: Understanding the thermal properties of stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic alloys.
Visual Acuity: Exceptional eyesight and hand-eye coordination for working on intricate joints.
Certifications: Preference for AWS (American Welding Society) or equivalent certified welders.
