Your Duties:
Machine Setup & Configuration: Make sure the worktable and spindle are clear and calibrated by interpreting setup sheets and tool lists to get the VMC ready for particular task orders.
Workholding Installation: Use dial indications to make sure the setup is precisely square and true while setting up and aligning vises, sub-plates, rotary tables (4th axis), or bespoke fixtures.
Tooling & Preset: Choose and put cutting instruments (such as end mills, face mills, drills, and taps) into tool holders; use laser probes or touch-off techniques to adjust tool length and radius.
/>First-Off Approval: Use micrometers, height gauges, or CMMs to do a thorough dimensional inspection of the product after the first machining cycle.
Documentation: To guarantee process repeatability for upcoming batches, save setup sheets, tool life records, and quality logs.
