Quality Engineer Continuing Education in Manufacturers
Job Description
Duties:
Quality Planning (APQP/PPAP): Oversee the creation of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation as well as the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) procedure for new product releases.
Risk management (FMEA): To find possible risks in the manufacturing process and put preventative controls in place, perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Use 8D, 5-Why, or Fishbone diagrams to conduct investigations into internal non-conformances and consumer complaints in order to put long-term corrective measures into place.
Supplier Quality Management: To guarantee the integrity of incoming materials, audit raw material suppliers and handle Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR).
Metrology & Calibration: Determine the measurement techniques for intricate
components and supervise the calibration of precision measuring devices.
QMS Compliance: Verify that the establishment complies with international standards like ISO 9001, IATF, or ISO (Medical).
Focus Skills:
Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing procedures (GD&T).
Statistical Mastery: The ability to analyze data and test hypotheses using Minitab or a comparable program.
Auditing Proficiency: It is highly desirable to have a Certified Internal Auditor for applicable ISO/IATF standards.
Understanding the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) process is essential for solving problems.
Attention to Detail: A strict eye for aesthetic standards and dimensional precision.
