Quality Engineer Automotive Advancement in Career
Job Description
Throughout the manufacturing lifecycle, the Quality Engineer is in charge of the entire design and execution of quality standards and systems. Defect prevention, process stability, and continual improvement through data-driven approaches are the main objectives of your work. You will examine the "why" behind quality problems and develop solutions to increase production output, in contrast to a QC position that concentrates on final inspection. The ideal applicant is a strategic thinker who can use Lean and Six Sigma techniques to close the gap between shop floor capabilities and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
Process Capability Analysis: Use Cp/Cpk analysis to assess manufacturing processes to make sure they can reliably produce products within specification limitations.
Quality Planning: Create and update Quality Manuals, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and Control Plans for both new and old goods.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Use 8D or 5-Why approaches to guide
cross-functional teams in their investigation of internal non-conformities or customer complaints.
Statistical Process Control (SPC): To spot patterns and stop errors before they happen, use and keep an eye on SPC charts on the production floor.
Supplier Quality Management: Oversee the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) procedure and audit supplier facilities.
Continuous Improvement: Promote Six Sigma and "Kaizen" programs to cut waste, scrap rates, and rework expenses.
Skills:
Technical Software: Expertise in CAD software, SAP (Quality Module), and Minitab (for statistical analysis).
Methodological expertise includes a thorough understanding of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
The capacity to decipher complicated datasets and convert them into practical process enhancements.
Auditing Proficiency: ISO or industry-specific certified internal auditor.
