Responsibilities:
Incoming Material Inspection: Verify the quality of raw materials and outsourced components against purchase orders and technical drawings before they enter the production line.
In-Process Quality Control (IPQC): To find flaws early and stop mass rejection, do routine "line audits" and "first-off" inspections during production.
Precision Measurement: To confirm dimensions, use sophisticated metrology instruments like CMM, Vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
Statistical Process Control (SPC): Use control charts to track
production stability and spot patterns and possible process changes before items fail to meet specifications.
Non-Conforming Material Management: Identify, tag, and separate defective items; lead the MRB to decide on "Rework," "Scrap," or "Accept as is."
Calibration Management: Ensure all measuring instruments on the work floor are calibrated and traceable to national/international standards.
Required Skills:
Metrology Expertise: Mastery of precision hand tools and automated inspection equipment.
Blueprint Reading: Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering drawing interpretation.
Analytical Tools: Knowledge of Minitab, Excel, or Six Sigma tools for data analysis.
Standards Knowledge: Strong understanding of industry-specific standards.
Experience: 0 to 3 yrs
