Job Description
As the tactical commander of the manufacturing floor, the production engineer is in charge of converting raw resources into completed commodities as efficiently and wastelessly as possible. Managing shop floor personnel, streamlining production procedures, and making sure daily output goals are reached without sacrificing quality or safety are your main responsibilities. By continuously assessing workflows to remove bottlenecks, you serve as the link between design engineering and final assembly. A high-energy problem-solver who enjoys a fast-paced work environment and has a thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles is the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution: Follow daily production plans to satisfy client demands while making sure that the best possible use of labor and equipment is allocated.
Process Optimization: Use time-and-motion studies to analyze production workflows in order to decrease cycle durations and increase throughput.
Line balancing: Set up workstations and assign tasks to prevent
"bottlenecks" on the assembly line and guarantee a smooth material flow.
Resource Management: To have a lean inventory, control the amount of raw materials used and keep an eye on "Work in Progress" (WIP) levels.
Continuous Improvement: Take the lead in Kaizen initiatives and apply Lean Manufacturing techniques like Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Just-In-Time (JIT), and 5S.
Troubleshooting: Work with maintenance teams to find and fix technical issues on the manufacturing line in order to reduce downtime.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and production processes (machining, assembly, or molding) characterizes technical proficiency.
The capacity to analyze data in order to spot patterns and apply data-driven process modifications.
The capacity to oversee, inspire, and educate a varied group of operators and technicians.
Effective use of root-cause analysis methods, such as Fishbone diagrams and the 5-Why method, is essential for problem-solving.
