Job Description
The main force behind manufacturing productivity and efficiency on the factory floor is the production engineer. Your task is to manage the delicate balance between people, machines, and processes in order to convert raw resources into completed commodities. You are in charge of achieving daily production goals while upholding strict quality standards and cutting expenses. You close the gap between design and delivery in this position by making sure that the production line is efficient, downtime is kept to a minimum, and employees are motivated and trained. A proactive problem-solver with a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and technical shop-floor management is the perfect candidate.
Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution: Follow the daily production plan (Shift Plan) to satisfy client demands while making sure that manpower and equipment are allocated as efficiently as possible.
Process optimization is the process of locating production line bottlenecks and putting fixes in place to increase output and shorten cycle times.
Lean & Continuous Improvement: Lead Kaizen,
5S, and Six Sigma projects to increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and reduce waste (Muda).
Technical Troubleshooting: Work with the Maintenance and Quality teams to provide prompt technical assistance for machine failures or process deviations.
Manpower Management: Provide shop floor operators and technicians with supervision and training, guaranteeing discipline, excellent morale, and adherence to SOPs.
Cost control: Keep an eye on and cut manufacturing costs by eliminating scrap, reworking, and maximizing energy and consumable utilization.
Skills:
Technical Competency: Excellent knowledge of equipment maintenance and manufacturing processes (such as assembly, machining, or molding).
Analytical Tools: Expertise in Time & Motion studies, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and OEE computation.
Leadership: The capacity to oversee a multicultural workforce and guide interdisciplinary teams while meeting deadlines.
Software literacy: knowledge of MS Excel for data tracking, AutoCAD, and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).
