Pre-Treatment & Paint Defect Analysis PS Quality Engineer
Job Description
Duties:
Surface Inspection: Examine painted components visually and by hand to find flaws such dust, pinholes, orange peel, and color mismatch.
Measurement and Validation: To make sure coating thickness and appearance satisfy requirements, use precise tools like spectrophotometers, gloss meters, and DFT gauges.
Laboratory Testing: To verify paint lifetime, perform specialist tests such as the Cross-Hatch Adhesion test, Salt Spray test, and Chemical Resistance test.
Color Matching: To guarantee consistency in a variety of lighting situations, control the color harmony of separate components using a light booth.
Process Audits: Monitor variables including pH, conductivity, and bath temperature
while conducting routine audits of the Pre-Treatment and Electro-Deposition baths.
Non-Conformance Management: Use RCA tools such as Fishbone or 5-Why to investigate quality issues and put remedial and preventive measures in place.
Focus Skills:
Technical expertise includes a thorough understanding of surface preparation methods, curing processes, and paint chemistry.
Tool proficiency is the ability to play high-quality instruments.
Standards Knowledge: Knowledge of industry-specific, ISO, or ASTM standards.
Analytical Thinking: The capacity to decipher patterns in data and link variances in processes to flaws in quality.
