In a manufacturing plant, the Paintshop Production Engineer is in charge of managing the coating and surface treatment procedures. In order to maintain high throughput and reduce environmental effect, this job makes sure that components are painted to exact functional and aesthetic criteria. Managing both automated and manual paint lines, regulating chemical parameters during pre-treatment, and resolving issues like orange peel, runs, or contamination are the main priorities. The ideal
applicant optimizes the "First Time Through" (FTT) rate by combining mechanical engineering and chemical process expertise.
Key Skills:
Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of paint rheology, chemistry, and application techniques.
Robotics & Automation: Knowledge of paint robot programming and troubleshooting.
Analytical Tools: Expertise with color matching spectrophotometers, DFT gauges, and gloss meters.
Safety and Environment: Excellent understanding of how to handle hazardous materials and follow fire safety procedures in a combustible setting.
