PED Engineer Job Economy & Molding Procedure
Job Description
Who you are:
Manage the mold fabrication schedule using external tool rooms; examine mold designs (DFM) to make sure they are optimum for cooling, ejection, and gate placement. Use scientific moulding principles (viscosity curves, cavity balancing, pressure drop studies) to establish the first "Master Process." Conveyors, robotic End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT), and specialized cooling fixtures are examples of auxiliary equipment that can be designed or chosen. To maximize productivity without sacrificing component quality, analyze the molding cycle to shorten the "dry cycle" duration and improve the cooling phases.
Using Mold Flow simulation data, work with product designers to recommend modifications that avoid flaws like gas traps or weld lines.
