PED Engineer Improvement of the Moulding Procedure
Job Description:
The technological mastermind behind the manufacturing process in the injection molding sector is the PED Engineer. Your main goal is to create reliable, repeatable, and efficient molding processes in order to close the gap between product design and mass manufacturing. "Scientific Moulding" the shift from trial-and-error to data-driven parameter setting—is your responsibility. To guarantee optimal productivity and minimal waste, you will manage mold trials, specify the "Process Window," and put automation in place. A technical specialist who is aware of the intricate connections between final component geometry, material behavior, and machine parameters would be the best candidate.
Key Duties
Using the principles of Scientific Moulding, develop and record reliable injection molding procedures.
/>Mold Trials & Validation: Oversee New Mold Trials, diagnose issues, and confirm that the tooling satisfies quality and manufacturing cycle time standards.
DOE: Use methodical testing to determine the ideal "Process Window" that reliably generates parts within tolerance in spite of external factors.
Cycle Time Optimization: Use sequence optimization or better cooling techniques to find bottlenecks in current production runs and shorten cycle durations.
Tooling Support: Review mold designs and make suggestions for changes to gates, runners, or cooling channels in coordination with the Tool Room.
SOP: To guarantee that production teams can duplicate ideal settings, create and update comprehensive "Setup Sheets" and process instructions.
