Responsibilities:
Machine Setup & Calibration: Set up milling centers by calibrating tool offsets and fastening workpieces using vises, fixtures, or vacuum tables.
CNC Programming & Simulation: Create and improve G-code and M-code programs; simulate toolpaths and avoid machine conflicts with CAM software.
Milling Operations: Perform a range of milling operations on various axis configurations, including contouring, slotting, end milling, and face milling.
In order to balance production speed with tool life and part quality, parameter optimization involves calculating and adjusting
spindle speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut.
Quality Inspection: Make sure the dimensions match the technical drawings by using precise tools like depth gauges, micrometers, and CMMs.
Maintenance Management: Oversee the cleaning and lubrication of the milling machine and maintain coolant concentration levels to ensure optimal operation.
Required Skills:
Technical Mastery: Knowledge of Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Siemens controllers; ability to operate manual mills or CNC/VMC centers.
Mathematical Proficiency: Ability to execute sophisticated trigonometry and algebraic calculations for part geometry and machine settings.
Advanced knowledge of engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is required for blueprint reading.
Software Proficiency: Practical knowledge of CAD/CAM software
