Lathe Engineer Operate with a Prominent Engineering Firm
Job Description
Duties:
Machine Operation & Programming: Create or modify G-code and M-code programs for automated production; set up and run traditional and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathe machines.
Blueprint Interpretation: To ascertain dimensions, tolerances, and the order of machining operations, read and evaluate intricate engineering drawings and P&IDs.
Tooling and Setup: Assemble work-holding equipment such as chucks, collets, and stable rests and choose the proper cutting tools.
Precision Measurement: To make sure items meet tolerances, conduct regular quality inspections using precision tools like bore gauges, micrometers, and vernier calipers.
Operations for Machining: Perform a number of operations on the workpiece, such
as turning, facing, threading, grooving, knurling, and drilling.
Material Management: To maximize tool life and finish, modify spindle speeds and feed rates according to the material being processed.
Focus Skills:
Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of lathe mechanics, including taper turning and thread cutting gear ratios.
Mathematical Proficiency: Excellent proficiency in geometry and trigonometry to compute angles and cutting paths.
Detail Orientation: The capacity to keep a laser-like focus on monotonous work in order to guarantee flawless output.
Manual Dexterity: Expert hand-eye coordination for delicate tool adjustments and manual lathe operations.
