Job Description:
The "Make-Ready" stage of the precision machining process is handled by the CNC Setter, a high-level technical expert. Your main responsibility is to set up, program, and prepare CNC equipment (such as lathes, mills, or multi-axis centers) to create a particular part from scratch while an operator operates the machine. You serve as a liaison between the engineering design and the production floor, making sure that each program line, tool offset, and fixture is optimized for speed and accuracy. The ideal applicant is a G-code expert, an expert in precise measurement,
and a problem-solver who can transform a complicated plan into a high-quality, repeatable production process.
Key Skills:
Advanced Blueprint Reading: Proficient knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards and symbols.
Proficiency in programming requires a thorough understanding of Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or Heidenhain controls as well as the ability to modify G-code on a machine.
Precision measurement requires expertise with digital inspection equipment and mastery of all manual metrology tools.
Analytical Thinking: The capacity to compute intricate feeds and speeds depending on the hardness of the material.
Experience: 3 to 6 yrs
