Job Description:
The daily upkeep and operation of vertical milling machines used to create precise components falls within the purview of the VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Operator. This position entails assembling workpieces, keeping an eye on the cutting procedure, and making sure that every component satisfies the exacting dimensional tolerances mandated by engineering standards. The ideal applicant is skilled at interpreting technical drawings, has specific knowledge in vertical machining, and maintains a high standard of precision and safety when working with a variety of materials, including cast iron, steel, and aluminum.

Key Duties:
Machine Operation: To carry out milling, drilling, tapping, and boring tasks, operate 3-axis or 4-axis VMC machines.
Loading and unloading:

To avoid machining mistakes, firmly clamp workpieces onto fixtures, vices, or jigs while making sure they are properly aligned.
Dimensional Inspection: Compare parts to plans using precision tools including Vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
Tool Monitoring: To preserve surface finish quality, keep an eye on tool wear during the machining process and replace any dull or damaged inserts or cutters.
Basic Offsets: To maintain part dimensions within the necessary tolerance range, perform small wear offsets in the machine controller.
Coolant & Lubrication: To avoid machine overheating and tool damage, monitor and maintain coolant concentration and oil levels on a regular basis.
