Job Description
Who you are:
Use setup sheets and tool lists to choose and install the appropriate work-holding devices, chucks, and fixtures. Set tool length and diameter offsets with pre-setters or on-machine probes after assembling and calibrating the cutting tools. Program loading and verification involves uploading G-code and M-code programs to the machine controller and running them in single-block or "dry runs" to look for possible interference or crashes. The initial part of a fresh batch should be run and thoroughly inspected against the technical drawing in order to obtain permission from the quality department. During setup, adjust coolant flow, feed rates,
and spindle speeds to maximize cycle times and prolong tool life. Before delivering the machine to the operator, troubleshoot any problems with the part dimensions, surface finish, or tool chatter.
