Job Description
Precision size and shape of raw materials, such as cloth, metal, wood, or composites, into certain components for assembly is the responsibility of the cutter, a crucial industrial position. Your precision immediately affects both the final product's quality and the quantity of material waste because you are at the start of the actual production line. Every cut must precisely match templates or digital patterns, whether you're using sophisticated automated technology or hand instruments. A steady-handed professional with a strong grasp of material grain or characteristics, an eye for precision, and a dedication to industrial safety is the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities
Material Preparation: To save waste, check raw materials for flaws and arrange them in accordance with production criteria.
Application of Template and Pattern: Make sure the "grain" or orientation is accurate for structural integrity by aligning physical templates or digital marks onto the material.
Precision Cutting: To create precise shapes, use automated machinery or manual cutting tools.
Measurement
and Calibration: To uphold zero-tolerance requirements, regularly check the measurements of cut items against blueprints using calipers, tapes, or gauges.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on cutting blades and machines, including sharpening, cleaning, and reporting mechanical faults.
Batch Sorting: Label and sort cut components into batches for the next step of production.
Waste Management: Monitor and document material consumption and scrap rates, giving the design team input on how to optimize layout.
Skills:
Manual Dexterity: Exceptional hand-eye coordination and the ability to use tools with great precision for extended durations.
Mathematical fundamental: Ability to read measures, calculate angles, and understand fundamental geometric shapes.
Material Knowledge: Knowing how certain materials respond to strain, heat, or particular kinds of blades.
Focus & stamina: The capacity to focus intently on repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods of time.
