A qualified technician, the ITI Fitter is in charge of assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment. Using hand tools and power equipment, this position requires precise manual labor, such as filing, drilling, grinding, and fitting parts to precise specifications. The ideal applicant can understand intricate engineering drawings, has a solid technical background from an Industrial Training Institute
(ITI), and is committed to making sure that every mechanical component works properly in a manufacturing or workshop setting.
Key Skills:
Technical Certification: A Fitter trade ITI certificate is required.
Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and measurement devices (gauges, calipers).
Mechanical aptitude: a solid grasp of bearings, gears, and mechanical connections.
Physical stamina: the capacity to manage heavy mechanical components and stand for extended periods of time
Experience: 3+ yrs
