Job Description
Focus: Emphasize the primary skills of strategic sourcing, vendor management, cost optimization, and team leadership within the purchase department of a manufacturing industry, specifically tailored to the Chennai and South India supply chain ecosystem.
Experience: 10 to 12 yrs
What you’ll Do:
Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for all direct and indirect materials, components, and services required for our manufacturing operations in Chennai, considering local market dynamics and supplier capabilities.
Lead and manage the purchase department team in Chennai, including setting objectives, assigning responsibilities, providing guidance, and fostering a high-performance culture.
Manage and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain, including supplier financial stability, geopolitical factors, and potential disruptions affecting our Chennai operations.
Oversee the management of purchase
orders, contracts, and other procurement-related documentation, ensuring accuracy and proper record-keeping in our Chennai system.
Mentor and develop the skills and capabilities of the purchase department team in Chennai, fostering professional growth and succession planning.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the purchase department to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and optimize the procurement process in Chennai.
What you need:
Experience in leading and managing a team of purchasing professionals, fostering collaboration and achieving departmental goals in Chennai.
Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems and other procurement software commonly used in manufacturing in Chennai.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate supplier proposals, analyze market data, and resolve procurement challenges specific to the Chennai environment.
