Job Description
Duties:
Process Design & Layout: To guarantee efficient material flow and little waste, design and optimize the plant layout and workstation ergonomics.
Cycle Time Optimization: Use "Line Balancing" to increase throughput and perform Time and Motion studies to find bottlenecks.
New Product Industrialization (NPI): Take the lead in establishing the "Bill of Process" (BOP) and manufacturing routing as new goods move from research and development to the manufacturing floor.
Tooling & Fixture Development: To increase accuracy and lessen operator fatigue, design or procure specialized jigs, fixtures, and cutting tools.
PFMEA & Risk Mitigation: Identify any process risks and put "Poka-Yoke" (error-proofing) solutions in place by
leading the Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Capex and Equipment Selection: Assess and suggest new automation or machinery; oversee the installation and "Process Qualification" (IQ/OQ/PQ) of new assets.
Focus Skills:
Technical Design: Expertise in 2D/3D computer-aided design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo).
Lean Methodologies: Excellent knowledge of Six Sigma, Kaizen, VSM (Value Stream Mapping), and 5S.
Project management: The capacity to oversee schedules for the installation of new equipment or the introduction of new products.
Analytical Tools: Proficiency with Excel or Minitab for process capability research and statistical analysis.
