Job Description:
Responsibilities:
CAM Programming: Create 3-axis (and 4-axis/indexing) programs for vertical machining centers using CAM software such as SolidCAM, PowerMill, or Mastercam.
Method Planning: To prevent collisions, choose the most effective machining sequence while taking component geometry, clamping locations, and tool reach into account.
Optimize spindle speeds and feed rates by taking into account the hardness of the material and the requirements for tool coating.
Tooling Selection: Determine and pick the appropriate drills, ball-nose cutters, end mills, and carbide inserts needed
for the task.
Fixture Strategy: To guarantee part stability during high-speed machining, design or recommend suitable work-holding solutions, such as modular vices or custom fixtures.
Code Verification: To identify possible gouges or machine over-travel, do virtual simulations using programs like VERICUT or integrated CAM simulators.
Required Skills:
Proficiency with software: advanced knowledge of 3D CAD modeling and CAM applications.
Technical Drawing: GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint expertise to guarantee items fulfill strict requirements
Mechanical Knowledge: thorough comprehension of axis limits, spindle power curves, and VMC machine architecture.
Analytical Thinking: The capacity to fix programming problems before they affect the shop floor and to visualize the metal-cutting process.
