Job Description
Duties:
NC Code Development: Use CAM software to create intricate multi-axis toolpaths for CNC mills, lathes, and turn-mill centers.
Drawing Analysis: Determine the proper machining tolerances and datum references by interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T regulations.
Tooling: Create unique work-holding fixtures for intricate parts and choose the best cutting tools according on the characteristics of the material.
Simulation & Verification: To discover collisions and confirm that the toolpath doesn't impede fixtures or machine limits, run "Virtual Machining" simulations.
Post-Processor Management: Make sure the generated code is flawlessly compatible with certain machine controllers by configuring and debugging post-processors.
Technical Documentation:

Provide CNC Setters and Operators with comprehensive setup sheets, tool lists, and operating instructions.
Continuous Improvement: Use "poka-yoke" in programming logic and take part in Root Cause Analysis for machining failures.

Focus Skills:
CAM Mastery: Proficient use of Fusion 360, SolidCAM, Mastercam, or PowerMill.
Coding expertise: a thorough comprehension of the syntax of G-code and M-code, as well as the capacity to make manual controller adjustments.
Calculating complex coordinates and angles requires a solid foundation in geometry and trigonometry.
Understanding the machinability of different materials, such as titanium, Inconel, aluminum, and hardened steels, is known as materials science.
