Job Description
The safe and effective transportation of products, materials, and equipment is the responsibility of the forklift operator, a crucial position in the warehouse and logistics chain. In order to load, unload, stack, and retrieve goods from transport vehicles or high-bay racking systems, this position requires operating heavy machinery. A safety-conscious person with strong spatial awareness and the physical endurance to work in a hectic industrial setting is the ideal choice. As a forklift operator, you control the flow of arriving and exiting goods while ensuring that merchandise is handled carefully to prevent damage.
Key Duties:
Material Handling: Drive big crates and pallets around the warehouse using industrial trucks.
Loading and Unloading: Use the proper attachments to safely load and unload
cargo from delivery vans, flatbed trucks, and shipping containers.
Inventory Placement: In accordance with the guidelines provided by the Warehouse Management System, stack and store materials in specified racks or floor locations.
Safety Inspections: Make sure the forklift is safe to operate by doing daily pre-operational inspections.
Documentation: Use manual logs or handheld scanners to track movements; compare shipping orders to actual stock to assure accuracy.
Warehouse Maintenance: To provide a safe passage for equipment and people, keep the work space tidy and free of obstacles.
Battery/Fuel Management: Follow safety procedures when performing normal maintenance, such as replenishing propane tanks or charging electric batteries.
