Troubleshooting: To determine the underlying cause of electrical problems in circuits, equipment, and control systems, employ diagnostic instruments.
Component Replacement: Fix or swap out malfunctioning electrical parts such switches, fuses, circuit
breakers, relays, and contactors.
Blueprint Reading: To comprehend the design of electrical systems, interpret architectural blueprints, electrical schematics, and single-line diagrams.
Safety Compliance: To reduce the risk of electric shock and arc flash, rigorously follow Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) protocols and use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Documentation: Keep thorough records of all maintenance operations, parts utilized, and system performance information in a logbook or CMMS.
Skills:
Technical Proficiency: A thorough understanding of regional electrical standards or the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Tool Mastery: Able to use electrical test equipment (Ammeters, Voltmeters, Meggers), power tools, and hand tools.
Physical stamina: The capacity to stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, and work in small areas.
Critical Thinking: The capacity to isolate problems in intricate electrical loops by following logical methods.
