The future of manufacturing relies on rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing integration, and smart tooling. The role of the Tool Designer is evolving into a key specialist who leverages advanced CAD/CAM systems, simulation software, and material science to create high-precision, long-life tools that minimize cycle times and maximize efficiency in production.
Desired Outcomes:
You will be responsible for the full tooling lifecycle, including conceptual design, detailed 3D modeling using software like SolidWorks or Creo, generating comprehensive 2D manufacturing drawings, and performing technical calculations
(e.g., stress, material flow). Your expertise in Tool Design principles (e.g., Mold Design, Die Design, Fixture Design), application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and understanding of tool steel properties and heat treatments will be crucial. You will collaborate closely with the tool room and production teams to validate designs and troubleshoot tooling performance issues, directly impacting product quality and manufacturing costs
Experience: 3 to 7 yrs
