Engineer Maintenance and Repairing of the Tool Room
Job Description:
Precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process are designed, manufactured, maintained, and repaired by the Tool Room Engineer, a specialist technical position. Because the accuracy of the final product is solely dependent on the precision of the tooling, this function is essential to guaranteeing manufacturing quality and efficiency. In order to support high-volume production environments like automotive, aerospace, or plastics manufacturing, the ideal candidate combines engineering knowledge with practical machining experience and the ability to work with intricate mechanical assemblies and tight tolerances.
Key Duties:
Tool Design & Development: Create new tools, molds, and fixtures based on component drawings, making sure they are optimized for usability
and longevity.
Tool Assembly & Fitting: To guarantee ideal alignment of moving parts, assemble intricate multi-part tools using precise "blue matching" and fitting.
Maintenance & Refurbishment: To reduce production downtime, perform preventative maintenance on current equipment and oversee the repair of damaged dies or molds.
Trial & Troubleshooting: Oversee "T1/T2" tool trials on the manufacturing floor, spotting output flaws and modifying the tooling to get the required part dimensions.
Coordination of Heat Treatment: Oversee the heat treatment procedure for tool steels to attain the necessary wear resistance and hardness.
Quality Inspection: Check tool dimensions against engineering plans using precise measuring tools.
