The concept, design, and development of high-precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures needed for manufacturing fall within the purview of the tool design engineer. This position uses sophisticated CAD software to convert product specs into workable tooling designs. The ideal applicant will have a thorough understanding of mechanical principles, manufacturing limitations, and material
qualities in order to design high-performance, long-lasting, and reasonably priced tools that guarantee product quality and production efficiency.
Key Skills:
proficiency in GD&T and 3D parametric modeling.
solid understanding of manufacturing techniques, including wire-cut, EDM, and VMC machining.
comprehension of tool assembly procedures and stack-up tolerance analysis.
ability to compute cooling needs, clamping pressures, and cutting forces.
