Electrical Technician Advance to the Role of SR Technician
Job Description
Duties:
Installation & Wiring: Comply with local electrical codes and technical drawings when laying out and installing electrical conduits, wiring, and fixtures.
Preventive maintenance involves cleaning and tightening connections to avoid overheating and arc risks, as well as performing regular checks of motors, generators, and circuit breakers.
Fault Diagnosis: To track out electrical problems and locate malfunctioning parts, use diagnostic instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers.
Equipment Repair: Fix or swap out malfunctioning electrical parts, such as switches, sensors, contactors, and relays.
VFD & Motor Support: Help with the installation and maintenance of industrial 3-phase motors and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Safety
and LOTO: Make sure all circuits are de-energized before starting work by strictly adhering to Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
Emergency Response: To reduce production downtime during unscheduled power outages or equipment problems, provide prompt technical support.
Focus Skills:
Technical Dexterity: Skill in secure terminations, wire tugging, and conduit bending.
Mastery of Diagnostics: Proficiency with electrical testing tools (Voltmeters, Ammeters, and Meggers).
Safety Knowledge: A thorough comprehension of OSHA electrical safety regulations and the appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
Physical stamina: The capacity to operate at heights, in small areas, and with heavy machinery.
