CNC Setter Be a Part of a Skilled Machining Crew
Job Description
The highly trained technical position of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Setter is in charge of setting up and prepping CNC machines for fresh production runs. In contrast to an operator, you concentrate on the transition between various products, which includes loading CNC programs, installing specialized tools, and adjusting machine offsets to produce the first "perfect part." By bridging the gap between the operator and the CNC programmer, you make sure the machine is adjusted for optimal accuracy and productivity. With a demonstrated capacity to handle difficult setup issues, the ideal applicant possesses strong technical understanding of control systems, tool geometry, and machining processes.
Key Duties:
Machine Configuration: Use setup sheets and tool lists to choose and install the appropriate work-holding devices, chucks, and fixtures.
/>Tooling Preparation: Assemble and calibrate cutting instruments; use on-machine probes or pre-setters to adjust tool diameter and length offsets.
Programloading & Verification: To check for possible crashes or interference, upload G-code/M-code programs to the machine controller and do "dry runs" or single-block executions.
initial-Off permission: To obtain Quality department permission, run the initial part of a fresh batch and conduct a thorough inspection in comparison to the technical drawing.
Process optimization: During setup, adjust coolant flow, feed rates, and spindle speeds to maximize cycle times and prolong tool life.
Before delivering the machine to the operator, troubleshoot any problems with the part dimensions, surface finish, or tool chatter.
