For multi-axis VMC and CNC lathe machines, use CAM software to create 2D and 3D tool paths. To guarantee smooth machine operation, write, modify, and optimize manual programs and post-processed code. To guarantee optimal productivity, ascertain the order of processes, work-holding needs, and tool selection for every task. Before the code reaches the shop floor, run virtual simulations of programs to find any possible tool collisions, "gouges," or machine limit violations. To minimize manufacturing costs, continuously improve programs to eliminate "air-cutting" and optimize feeds and
speeds. Choose high-performance cutting tools for certain materials and work with the design team to create unique fixtures.
