Responsibilities:
Program Development: Using CAM software, develop top-notch CNC programs for milling (3, 4, or 5-axis) and turning centers.
Toolpath Optimization: To reduce cycle times and extend tool life, design and improve machining techniques (such as trochoidal milling and high-speed machining).
Technical Interpretation: Examine 2D drawings and 3D CAD files to ascertain the optimal work-holding techniques, tooling needs, and order of processes.
Post-Processor Management: Make sure the CAM output is fully compatible with certain machine controllers by configuring and troubleshooting post-processors.
/>Simulation and Verification: Before the code reaches the shop floor, use simulation tools to identify any tool collisions, gouges, or machine over-travel.
Collaboration: Work closely with CNC Setters and Operators to diagnose program-related machine problems and apply suggestions for ongoing enhancement.
Required Skills:
CAM/CAD Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Fusion 360, Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or Mastercam.
Mathematical Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to compute complicated coordinates and angles.
Metallurgical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of feeds, speeds, and chip loads for a variety of materials, including steel, titanium, inconel, and aluminum.
Logical Thinking: The capacity to see the machining process in three dimensions and arrange tasks rationally for optimal effectiveness.
Experience: 5 to 8 yrs
