Responsibilities:
Machine Setup: To be ready for a production run, load feed mechanisms, install specialized tools (drills, end mills, inserts), and adjust machine offsets.
Operation Monitoring: To make sure the CNC machine (lathe, milling, or VMC) is operating properly and producing accurate cuts, start it and keep an eye on it.
Analyze technical drawings and "Job Route Cards" to comprehend surface finish specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.
Quality Inspection: To confirm that completed items adhere to the necessary tolerances, use precision measurement tools including micrometers, vernier calipers, and go/no-go gauges.
Tool maintenance
includes doing routine machine cleaning and lubrication (daily TPM), keeping an eye on tool wear, and replacing dull or damaged inserts or pieces.
Small Programming Tweaks: To account for tool wear or material variances, make simple "Offsets" or small changes to the G-code/M-code programs.
Required Skills:
Technical literacy is the capacity to read and comprehend GD&T symbols and 2D engineering drawings.
Measuring Tool Proficiency: Practical knowledge of both digital and analog measuring instruments (such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers).
Mathematical Skills: Fundamental shop math, including fractions, decimals, and geometry for calculating coordinates.
Strong knowledge of how machines operate and the capacity to recognize odd noises or vibrations while they are in use.
Software Familiarity: Fundamental knowledge of CNC control interfaces.
Experience: 0 to 3 yrs
