Job Description
The HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining thermal comfort and air quality systems within residential, commercial, or industrial facilities. Calculating heat loads, choosing the right equipment (chillers, AHUs, VRF), and making sure that systems are energy-efficient and adhere to global standards like ASHRAE are all part of your job. From initial load calculations and duct design to on-site installation and final commissioning, you will be in charge of the whole project lifespan. An expert in thermodynamics who strikes a balance between technical accuracy and an emphasis on cost-effectiveness and sustainability is the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities
Load Calculations: To ascertain a building's capacity requirements, do thorough cooling and heating load assessments using software such as HAP or Trace 700.
SystemDesign: Create thorough HVAC plans that guarantee the best possible air distribution and the least amount of noise, including ductwork, pipe, and ventilation systems.
Equipment Selection: Based on design specifications,
identify and choose mechanical parts such air handling units, fan coil units, chillers, and VRF/VRV systems.
Ventilation & Air Quality: Design fresh air and exhaust systems to preserve interior air quality and assure compliance with smoke extraction and pressurization requirements.
BMS Integration: Work with automation teams to integrate HVAC systems for energy optimization and remote monitoring into the Building Management System.
Project Supervision: Oversee installation operations on-site, making sure contractors comply to safety and quality standards and technical drawings.
Skills:
Technical Software: Knowledge of load calculation software (HAP/Carrier), AutoCAD, and Revit (BIM).
Engineering Knowledge: Strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and psychrometrics.
Regulatory Compliance: Understanding local building and fire codes, ASHRAE, and SMACNA.
Problem Solving: The capacity to diagnose intricate mechanical issues and maximize system performance under a variety of weather conditions.
