Asst Manager Integrating Results Process and People
Job Description
The daily management of the automated and manual assembly lines falls within the purview of the Assembly Production Department's Assistant Manager. The goal of this position is to meet production goals while upholding strict standards for cost-effectiveness, quality, and safety. The ideal applicant will ensure that personnel is maximized, line balance is accomplished, and "On-Time Delivery" (OTD) is routinely reached by bridging the gap between shop-floor execution and strategic management.
Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution: Execute daily production schedules based on the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and ensure the assembly lines meet hourly output targets (Pitch).
Line Balancing: Optimize the assembly process by distributing tasks evenly across workstations to minimize idle time and eliminate bottlenecks.
Resource Management: Supervise a large team of operators and technicians, managing shift rosters, attendance, and skill-mapping (Matrix) for the workforce.
Process Improvement: Implement Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Single Minute Exchange
of Die (SMED) to reduce setup times and improve flow.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all assembled products meet "First Pass Yield" (FPY) targets and oversee the implementation of Poka-Yoke (Error-Proofing) devices.
Cost & Waste Control: Monitor and reduce rejection rates, rework, and consumables wastage. Manage the "Cost of Poor Quality" (COPQ) within the department.
Health & Safety: Maintain a zero-accident workplace by ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of PPE on the assembly floor.
Equipment Upkeep: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure the reliability of assembly tools, pneumatic systems, and automated testing rigs.
Skills:
strong people management and leadership abilities in a demanding manufacturing setting.
expertise in the concepts of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Lean Manufacturing.
thorough comprehension of assembling methods.
Proficiency in reading and analyzing standard operating procedures, engineering drawings, and the Bill of Materials (BOM)
