Job Description
A crucial leadership position, the shift incharge is in charge of overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations during a given shift. Making sure that production goals are reached safely, effectively, and in compliance with quality standards is your main responsibility. You oversee a diverse group of operators and technicians while serving as the liaison between upper management and the shop floor. In order to sustain continuous flow, the position demands a "hands-on" leader who can manage worker discipline, fix technical obstacles, and make decisions in real time. A disciplined professional with a strong grasp of manufacturing procedures and a dedication to operational excellence is the perfect applicant.
Responsibilities
Production Execution: Manage the daily production schedule, making sure that personnel and equipment are used as efficiently as possible to achieve the output goals for the shift.
Manpower Management: Assign work to operators according to their skill levels, keep an eye on attendance, and make sure there is a high degree of motivation and discipline
on the shop floor.
Safety and Compliance: Make sure all employees are wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), perform toolbox talks, and enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures.
Quality Control: Regularly check process parameters and product quality, and if deviations from the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) are found, take prompt remedial action.
Process Improvement: Using Lean and 5S concepts during the shift, find ways to cut waste (Muda) and speed up cycle times.
Skills:
Leadership & Decision-Making: The capacity to manage a sizable group of people and find solutions when faced with pressing deadlines.
Technical Proficiency: A solid understanding of the particular production technique.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, OEE reports, and production dashboards.
Coordination with cross-functional departments such as Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics requires clear and aggressive communication.
