The ARC Welder, sometimes called the Shielded Metal Arc Welder (SMAW), is a proficient craftsman who uses electric arc welding equipment to combine metal components. Working with heavy-duty materials like carbon steel and iron in construction, shipbuilding, or heavy manufacturing settings, this position emphasizes structural integrity and strength. The ideal applicant can create strong, long-lasting welds in a variety of positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and above) while closely adhering to safety
procedures. They should also be skilled in manual welding techniques and comprehend the behavior of various electrodes.
Key Skills:
Technical Mastery: Excellent manual arc length and travel speed maintenance.
Physical stamina: The capacity to perform tasks in physically taxing settings, such as cramped quarters or high altitudes.
Strong hand-eye coordination and the capacity to see completed buildings from two-dimensional drawings are examples of spatial awareness.
Certifications: Having an AWS D1.1 structural welding certification or being able to get one.
