Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), also referred to as stick welding, can be done in a variety of positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
Blueprint & WPS Interpretation: To ascertain the necessary weld type, size, and material, examine and comprehend technical drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
Metal Preparation: To ensure a high-quality bond, clean, grind, and bevel metal workpieces to get rid of paint, corrosion, or scale.
Equipment Setup: Depending on the thickness of the material, choose the right electrodes and modify the welding machine's amperage and voltage.
Joint Fit-up: Prior to the final welding pass, align and secure pieces using clamps, jigs, and
tack welds to preserve dimensional correctness.
Quality Inspection: Perform basic non-destructive testing (NDT) and visual inspections of completed welds to find flaws such as porosity, undercut, or incomplete penetration.
Experience: 0 to 3 yrs
Education: Any ITI Graduation
