SQL Developer Transition to Data Science Opportunities
Job Description
Duties:
Database Design: Create and manage database views, tables, schemas, and indexes in accordance with business needs.
Query Development: To manage big datasets, create and refine intricate SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Performance tuning: Use indexing techniques and execution plans to keep an eye on database performance and adjust queries that are executing slowly.
ETL Procedures: To include data from several sources into the data warehouse, create and execute Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) workflows.
Data Integrity & Security: To guarantee data accuracy and prevent unwanted access, put limitations and security procedures in place.
Backup & Recovery: To
avoid data loss, create and evaluate database backup and recovery plans.
Reporting & BI: Work together with data analysts to produce data sets and views for reporting programs like SSRS, Tableau, and Power BI.
Focus Skills:
Core SQL: Proficiency with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL, as well as SQL (T-SQL or PL/SQL).
Analytical Thinking: Excellent ability to convert intricate business logic into effective SQL code.
Tools: Knowledge of Oracle SQL Developer, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), or comparable IDEs.
Version Control: Knowledge of managing database scripts with Git.
