Job Description
Duties:
Database Design: To guarantee data consistency, create and manage database schemas, tables, and relationships using normalization principles.
Query Optimization: Create and refine intricate T-SQL/PL-SQL queries to guarantee the application's maximum speed and scalability.
Stored Procedures & Functions: To automate database-level business logic, create and manage stored procedures, views, triggers, and user-defined functions.
ETL Development: Create and oversee Extract, Transform, and Load procedures to move data into data warehouses or between other systems.
Data Integrity & Security: To preserve referential integrity and safeguard sensitive data, use constraints, indexes, and security permissions.
Performance monitoring: Find and fix
database bottlenecks, including high CPU utilization, deadlocks, and long-running queries.
Backup & Recovery: To avoid data loss, help put automatic backup schedules and disaster recovery strategies into action.
Focus Skills:
SQL Mastery: Expertise in procedural extensions and SQL (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle).
Data Modeling: Knowledge of Star/Snowflake schemas for data warehousing and expertise in Entity-Relationship (ER) modeling.
Performance tuning: Able to use Profiler tools, execution plans, and indexing methods (Clustered vs. Non-clustered).
Analytical Thinking: The capacity to convert intricate business needs into effective technical database designs.
